University in China Joint Program Summary
4 hours intensive Chinese Classes
at a University in China + 2 hours 1-to-1 Tuition, Language Support and
Assistance
A new program developed to aid your study in China is now available. The
Chinese language program consists of: core Chinese classes at the University of International Relations - Center for
International Education, a university in China (central campus located
in the Beijing University area). CLIB provides Chinese 1 on 1 tuition
tutoring to augment your Chinese classes in Beijing. We provide
intensive Chinese classes (1 on 1) to help you launch to a much higher level for continued
Chinese
learning in Beijing. You will be placed at the University in
Beijing, China to study Chinese in China
while receiving ongoing support and value added services from our
Mandarin Chinese school in Beijing.
Chinese Language Training In Beijing
The core program consists of the University in China Chinese language program,
intensive Chinese program in Beijing (4 hours per day, weekdays).
Concurrently, the students will continue the joint program by
receiving 1 to 1 tuition at CLIB (Chinese Language Institute of Beijing)
everyday during their study in China (7 days per week). The University
courses consist of four hours per day of Chinese classes in Beijing.
These four hours of Chinese language learning are augmented by Chinese
learning support services, personal tutoring, liaison services and other things outlined
below.
Application, Registration, and Enrollment at the University in China
As this is an officially recognized program with our partner University
in China, we will handle all registration details for you. This includes
acting as a liaison between you and the University in China and all
registration and Chinese visa issues. The price includes necessary
application fees.
Textbooks and
Materials
We will provide you with all necessary textbooks and Chinese learning
materials as you
continue your Chinese language learning at the University in Beijing,
China.
Smooth transition
We will work with you as you begin your Chinese language learning at
the University in Beijing, China. You will be assisted with class
placement, and transition to the university in China. We will act as
your liaison between you and the University in China. We will accompany you on your
first day of class at the University in China.

accommodation in Beijing
during your study in China. We will arrange for you to stay in the university
dormitory or other accommodation in Beijing. Accommodation in Beijing at the campus
university dorm is included in the program fee. Other accommodation in

Electives
Students studying for one semester or longer are
automatically included in Chinese culture and Chinese language learning
electives at the university in Beijing, China.

Chinese Language Skills Electives
Audio-Visual Course - Students will be shown selected movies,
videos or TV programs related to Chinese culture and Chinese society.
Assignments will be given to inspire their understanding of China as
well as improving their listening comprehension skill.
Basic journalistic Chinese - Articles from Chinese newspapers and
magazines will be chosen as extensive reading materials. Students will
learn the basic knowledge of lexical and stylistic features of
journalistic Chinese
Chinese Culture Electives
Chinese Calligraphy - Learn the various calligraphy styles and
their features, and focus on perfecting one style of this ancient art
form.
Chinese Painting - Learn the elements of traditional Chinese
watercolor painting under the guidance of a professional.
Chinese Songs - Learn to sing Chinese songs – both traditional
folk and current pop songs. Lyrics are in pinyin and Hanzi.
Tai Ji Quan - Learn how to perform movements of the simplified
“Tai Chi” to improve health and fitness.

Airport Pickup
and “Welcome to Your Study in China” Reception
We will meet you upon your arrival in Beijing. We will meet you at
either Beijing International Airport or Beijing Train Station.
The person picking you up will speak English.
You will receive a welcome bag including magazines, Beijing tourist
guides, Beijing tourist attractions, Beijing maps, Beijing subway maps,
information about Beijing nightlife, some small snacks and of course
water.
You also receive quick reference guide and emergency contact information
including contact information for the US Embassy in Beijing and
Consulates in China as well as emergency contact information for staff
We will escort you to your accommodation in Beijing, register you at the
front desk, and ensure that you are settled in.
We will provide you with towels and toilet paper (not provided by other
companies that use the student center nor the student center itself)
Notification of Family and Loved Ones or others
We know you may have family, friends, colleagues or even bosses or
associates that would like to know when you have arrived safely in China.
We will help you do that. We will assist you in making phone calls (which
you can make for free!) to notify people of your safe arrival in China.
If you are too tired, jet lagged, or otherwise, we can handle this for you.
We will notify up to 10 people of your arrival on your behalf.
